The Brazos Valley Psychological Association is fortunate to have a number of volunteers to help with technical and administrative aspects of running our organization. Most of our volunteers are students pursuing degrees in areas other than psychology.  We appreciate their willingness to donate their time and expertise to help BVPA serve our community’s mental health providers, and in turn our community’s mental health.

Lauren Tong is a senior at Texas A&M University pursuing a BS in Psychology. After graduation, she is hoping to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology for a career in research. She is excited to volunteer and help with the BVPA this year, with hopes to establish meaningful bonds and opportunities through this endeavor. In her free time, Lauren likes to watch movies, bake sweet treats, and upcycle clothing.

Addison Powers is a junior Psychology major in the Psychology Honors Program at Texas A&M University. She is particularly interested in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. As a BVPA volunteer, Addison is excited to become more involved in the psychology community, connect with professionals in the field, and gain experience that will support her future career. She is especially interested in contributing through graphic design and communication while continuing to learn about the ways psychology can be applied in professional settings. In her free time, Addison enjoys spending time with friends and family, going on walks, and being involved in organizations and activities at Texas A&M.
