Program Description: Artificial intelligence (AI) holds great potential to advance behavioral healthcare, but it also raises important ethical, privacy, and clinical concerns. This training focuses on equipping behavioral health professionals with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate these challenges responsibly. Through in-depth discussion and case examples, participants will explore key ethical frameworks, data privacy regulations, and potential biases inherent in AI systems. The training will highlight strategies for maintaining clinical integrity, fostering transparency with clients, and ensuring equitable outcomes when using AI tools. Participants will leave with practical guidelines for critically evaluating AI technologies and integrating them in ways that prioritize client safety, dignity, and therapeutic efficacy.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe key ethical considerations and potential risks associated with the use of AI in behavioral healthcare.

  2. Identify common sources of bias and privacy vulnerabilities in AI-driven tools.

  3. Apply ethical decision-making frameworks to assess and implement AI technologies in clinical practice.
